Meet the Director
Meet Toby Thomas - owner and director of Westside Gymnastics!
Having grown up in Seddon, Toby is a lifelong westie and gymnastics fanatic
After being placed in the sport as a physical outlet at age 3 for “a term or two at most” it was apparent that gymnastics was love at first sight and this journey was going to last a little longer than a few months! The years that followed saw Toby rise through the ranks, culminating in representing Victoria at the Australian Championships.
Post his athletic career, Toby has worked at a range of leading Melbourne clubs, honing his skills in the coaching and management space.
His impressive skillset includes:

Accredited FIG II/Advanced Silver Women’s Gymnastics Coach (the second highest coaching level in Australia!)

2024 & 2025 GCA 40 Under 40 list - named amongst the top industry leaders under the age of 40

Operations Manager of Gymnastics Victoria’s 2022 and 2023 Club of the Year

Announcer and Floor Manager for Gymnastics Victoria, Gymnastics South Australia and Gymnastics Australia

In 2025 Toby threw open the doors to his very own club, Westside Gymnastics, dedicated to the proud identity of Melbourne’s west and to provide even more opportunity for local kids to get involved in gymnastics!
